I get quite a few e-mails from cellists asking about technical issues and problems. The possible answers can be complicated to explain in writing so I have decided to offer Skype lessons for those who would like some pointers. Let me be clear that I do not think the lessons via Skype can take the place of a live teacher but there are many circumstances that may warrant a lesson via the Internet;
- A student who lives in a remote area without access to a cello teacher
- A cello student who simply wants another perspective or additional input
- A public school teacher whose primary instrument is not the cello and would like some pointers
- Someone suffering from pain while playing the cello. I have information that may be helpful to those suffering from pain while playing the cello
If you would like to take a lesson, just send me an e-mail and we can arrange a time. I am much more free to do this during the summer. During the school year, I will do my best to find a time that works for both of us.
The charge is $50/hour or $30/half hour. Payments will need to be made in advance.
I look forward to hearing from you and, as always, happy practicing!
